Career
Highlights:
During college co-operative work-study and after graduation, I did
research in photographic chemistry at Tektronix and American Photographic
Equipment Company, along with photography for a year with Swedens
largest publishing company in Stockholm; also worked with television
and media communications in the 70s moving from photography
into computers, resulting in my own consulting business, Datamaster,
in 1976. Data processing clients included Hewlett-Packard, Monsanto,
and Burroughs Corporation, with many local North Coast California
clients in applications software development, technical writing,
conversion support, and training.
Photography has become a major involvement again, with aerial, commercial
and fine art projects. For the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District,
I recently photographed the length of the Mad River from the air,
integrating the images into a resource database of 300 on-line photos.
For Humboldt State University in 1999-2000, I photographed almost
3000 aerial stereo images for their accuracy assessment of a 42
million acre mapping project. The US Army Corp of Engineers has
licensed many of my coastal photographs for research and technical
articles.
The business of computers and photography are growing closer together,
and the prospects for future work in digital imaging projects are
blending two past careers into an exciting new one.
